Lucius Verus 

Lucius Aurelius Verus, 161 - 169

Born (Lucius Ceionius Commodus) in 130, the son of Aelius Caesar. He was adopted by Antoninus Pius on the death of Hadrian in138. On Antoninus' death in 161, Marcus Aurelius became emperor and associated his adoptive brother with himself in the purple. In the early years of his reign, he fought a number of successful campains in the east, but after 165 he remained in Rome and dedicated himself to a life of decadence. He died in 169 of a stroke.
