Geta

Publius Septimius Geta, Caesar 198 - 209, Augustus 209 - 212

Publius (or sometimes Lucius) Septimius Geta was born in Rome in 189. Son of Septimius Severus and brother of Caracalla, he was appointed as Caesar at the age of nine and Augustus at twenty. He campaigned in Britain with his father and brother. On the death of his father, he inherited the throne along with his brother. After only a year of joint rule, however, the vicious and violent Caracalla murdered his brother as he sought shelter in the arms of his mother, Julia Domna.
