Allectus, British emperor 293 - 296Allectus was chief minister of the breakaway British emperor
Carausius. He murdered his master and assumed the imperial British title himself. He was by no means as wily as
Carausius had been though, and in 296 was defeated and killed by Constantius I
, who reabsorbed Britain back into the Roman empire.
